Al Mandoos 2026
Promotion · February 2026
The 2026 opener for Al Mandoos, the traditional Ramadan announcer who rolls through the neighbourhood to call out the news of the day. This year the piece was built on a fully AI-managed post-production pipeline, and the time it saved was the whole point. Roto painting and roto clean-up — normally the slowest, most frame-by-frame part of the job — were handled with AI, pulling clean mattes and removing rigs and stray elements in a fraction of the usual hours. Sky replacement was driven the same way, swapping and relighting skies that track naturally with the camera. The centrepiece is the day-to-night transition: an AI-assisted grade and relight that carries a single continuous shot from daylight through to night without a cut, something that would traditionally take days of manual compositing. The result is a faster turnaround with no compromise on the finish — an advanced, AI-driven system doing the heavy lifting so the craft decisions stay in my hands.
