Learn the craft from the chair it was made in.

Accredited, hands-on training for teams and institutions. We open real footage, real projects and real problems, and work through them together.

Filmmaking

How to think in shots before you think in software. This module builds the visual judgement that every later stage depends on, so footage arrives in the edit already working for the story.

  • Structuring a story for screen: hook, build, turn and payoff in formats from 15-second social to long-form
  • Shot design and coverage: choosing lenses, framing and camera movement with the cut already in mind
  • Lighting for the edit: motivated light, contrast ratios, and matching setups across a scene
  • Directing non-actors and interview subjects so performances feel natural on camera
  • Shooting for post: exposure, codecs, frame rates and slates that save hours downstream
  • On-set workflow: shot lists, call sheets and running a small crew efficiently

Compositing

The invisible work that lets an audience believe a shot that was never actually filmed. Participants learn the core compositing toolkit on real production plates, not tutorial footage.

  • Node-based compositing fundamentals and how to build clean, readable node trees
  • Keying green and blue screen, including hair, motion blur and spill suppression
  • 2D, planar and 3D camera tracking for screen replacements, signs and set extensions
  • Rotoscoping and clean-up: removing rigs, wires, logos and unwanted objects
  • Integrating CG and stock elements with matching light, grain, depth and lens effects
  • Quality control: spotting edges, flicker and drift before the client does

Colour Grading

Colour is where the story lives. Delivered as a Blackmagic Design Certified Trainer, this module follows the official DaVinci Resolve curriculum and gives participants a path to their own certification.

  • Reading scopes: waveform, parade and vectorscope as the ground truth for every decision
  • Primary correction: balancing exposure, contrast and white balance across a whole timeline
  • Building a node structure that scales from a single commercial to a full series
  • Secondary grading: qualifiers, power windows and tracking to isolate faces, skies and products
  • Look development: designing a grade with intent and matching shots from different cameras
  • Colour management and delivery for Rec.709, HDR, broadcast and social platforms

Branding & Motion

Brand systems that move. This module connects brand identity to motion design, so every video an organisation publishes looks like it belongs to the same family.

  • Translating a static brand guideline into motion principles: timing, easing and rhythm
  • Designing idents, logo animations, bumpers and end cards
  • Building lower thirds, titles and graphic templates the whole team can reuse
  • Typography and layout for screen, including Arabic and bilingual design
  • Creating template systems (MOGRTs, Fusion macros) that keep work on-brand under deadline
  • Motion for social: vertical formats, safe zones and attention in the first second

Post Production

The workflow behind the finish. This module covers everything that happens between the last take and the final delivery, the part of production where most time and money is quietly lost.

  • Setting up projects, folder structures and media management that a whole team can follow
  • Editing for pace and story: assembly, rough cut, fine cut and handling client notes
  • Sound: dialogue clean-up, music selection, mixing and loudness standards
  • Conform and round-tripping between editorial, VFX, colour and audio
  • Review and approval workflows that keep feedback organised and versioned
  • Delivery: broadcast specs, subtitles, archiving and multi-platform exports
